Vaunda Leftwich is the consummate wedding professional in Southwest Virginia. She has been recognized as the source for wedding information, from bridal gowns to catering. The reason is simple, Vaunda has worked in every facet of the wedding arena; she has run a wedding consulting service, directed weddings, run a catering service, advised brides on wedding invitations and accessories, owned and operated bridal shops, and personally marketed virtually every type of bridal product and service.

Vaunda has served on the consumer advisory board for wedding gown manufacturer, Alfred Angelo. She also has long-time business relationships with many of the major bridal manufacturers, suppliers, and distributors.

Vaunda attended public schools in Roanoke, graduating from Jefferson High School. She attended Virginia Western Community College and has obtained professional certification from the travel industry, the bridal consulting community, and holds a Virginia real estate license. As a further diversification of her talents, she also worked as a para-legal for the President of the Roanoke Bar Association. She studied with the GIA (Gemological Institute of America), receiving several certifications. She recently retired as a gemologist and jewelry appraiser.

Actively involved in civic matters and has held the following positions: member of the Brambleton Junior Women’s Club, president of the Tanglewood Mall Merchant’s Association, vice-president of the Miss Roanoke Valley Pageant, the Jefferson High School Preservation Committee, president of the Roanoke chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, treasurer of the Blue Ridge District of the Virginia Professional Photographers Association.

Vaunda’s marketing expertise allows her to draw upon her past business experiences and upon the knowledge of important leaders in the wedding fashion industry. For this reason, she convinced the local bridal shops, hotels, caterers, etc. to concentrate their efforts on one large bridal show, instead of the usual ten to twelve different shows that were occurring in the area. This idea grew into what is known today as the Roanoke Valley Bridal Showcase. The Roanoke Valley Bridal Showcase has grown to be the premier bridal show in the State of Virginia. Additionally, Vaunda publishes the Southwest Virginia Bridal Guide, an annual publication covering all of Southwest Virginia.

Vaunda resides in Southwest Roanoke, with her husband Robert. She has two children, Michelle and Robert II, and two grandchildren, Tyler and Morgan Smith.
